Here we have for sale - a really characterful bench/church pew - it is a genuine antique - likely to be Victorian. Slightly smaller than many pews available at just over 5 feet long (1.6 metres).
Probably dating from the 1870s - it is craftsman made from heavy pitch pine. Over many decades it has acquired a wonderful character through wear, re-painting/staining, and repairs by various past users.
The seat base is a solid shaped plank. The back is panelled. Lovely patina & detail on the end panels and arm-rests. Still has the prayer book shelf in the rear. Please see all the pictures.
Some small repairs have been done to the under panel - (probably originally installed near pipework) but these repairs are not noticable when its placed against a wall (see the picture of the front). Very solid item, and will last more than another 150 years.
It looks really attractive - and is surprisingly comfortable.
Would seat 5 and upwards - for that party meal?
It would also look great in a business foyer, wine bar, man-cave, or home bar.
As you would expect for something that is over 150 years old - it has that wonderful patina of use which can't be simulated.
Can be delivered to anywhere in mainland UK at extra cost - please enquire.
Length = 165 cms (65 inches)
Depth front to back = 49 cms (19 inches)

Would be perfect for a large dining room, conservatory, or anywhere.
Please study all the pictures - the item is not new (over 150 years old), so expect wear and tear - but it is very good for what it is - a genuine old church pew.
