Here we have for sale - a rare Nimbus Model C motorcycle from the early 1950s
In case you are not aware of Nimbus motorcycles, they were designed and built from 1934 onwards by the same company that built Nilfisk vacuum cleaners. Very advanced for their time - 4-cylinder overhead valve engine, Overhead Cam (OHC) driven by shaft, exposed valve rockers that do not leak, shaft drive to the rear wheel, decent electric lightling, etc, etc. A very interesting machine to the engineers among you.
This one is complete, and was running up to about 18 months ago when it came into our hands from Denmark.
Beforehand, the previous owner has restored the motorcycle to a high standard, but left it unused in storage for a while.
During the restoration, the mudguards where galvanised, and those of you that know about this process will say that getting paint to stick to galvanising is difficult. And that is what has happened here. There are areas on the mudguards where the (once new) paint is flaking off. Please study the pictures.
Mechanically the engine and gearbox are good.
Just needs an afternoon to fit a new battery, give it a going-over, and generally recommission.
It will also need registering in the UK. We have the NOVA documentation, and the forms. All it takes is for you to get insurance for it and apply to the DVLA. We can help you with that.
We are Nimbus specialists - and sell spares for them. There is also lots of information about them.
Over 30 various old bikes on sale in our warehouse - Norton - Velocette - Moto Guzzi - etc, etc
This item is for collection in person - or we can arrange transportation which could cost anything in the region of £150 to £250 depending where you are in mainland UK.
