Here we have for sale - a lovely Rudge 500cc 4-valve motorcycle, made in 1937 - a 'Rudge Special'.
There are indeed some very special features about this particular machine.
Firstly, it was built to be a replica of the famous 1937 Earls Court show bike, and if you place a picture of the show bike next to this one (see pictures) - I think you would agree it's hard to tell. The show picture is black and white - but the actual colour of the bike was yellow.
This Rudge was also owned by a well-known speedway rider Francis Cann - and the bike is very well known and documented.
An older restoration - it is still very good indeed. The engineer that did the work left nothing untouched - even upgrading the crankshaft with the stronger big-end bearing, plus many other useful and sensible things.
Has the Rudge handle-lift centre stand - so easy to use.
This has won several show prizes. Lots of history and paperwork with this bike - too much to show here.
This is a very rare and desirable machine.
Please take time to look at all the pictures - most of the story is there.
Do come and view at our warehouse (where we have lots of old bikes for sale) - no obligation to buy...
We will consider sensible offers...
Overseas buyers are welcome - but you must organise and pay for your own transportation. This can be delivered to anywhere in mainland UK at extra cost.
